The sketches I had done almost two decades ago provided the
springboard for ‘Distortion & Displacement’ using Indian vessel forms, the Hundi, Lota & Chatti as
templates – tilting, stretching their necks and setting a straight line against a curve. Maturity has
given me the confidence, clarity of vision and technique to push these distortions of classical forms
to its extremes while still retaining their essential balance.
